Part of the goal of this site is to document our travels or travel ideas. That will include posts about planning, trip reports, reviews and who knows what else at this stage.
Since we’ve resumed travel after the pandemic, we’ve only returned to familiar places, such as Japan and Malaysia. While we love these places, this year it was time for something new.
The Plan
Enter Taiwan.
Last year we flew through Taipei on our way to Malaysia and after spending some time at TPE airport our interest was piqued and we wanted to explore further.
While researching flights, we found an itinerary that went through Seoul and we figured that it could be an excellent opportunity to visit a couple of countries that neither Kelsey nor I had previously visited.

Itinerary
We decided that Taiwan was still going to be the primary focus on this trip, so ultimately chose to do 3 days, 4 nights in Seoul. The rest of the trip is going to be focused on travelling around Taiwan and seeing as much as we’re able to. Our plans are as follows:
- Oct 30: Depart Vancouver
- Oct 31 – Nov 3: Seoul
- Nov 3 – 7: Taichung
- Nov 7 – 10: Tainan
- Nov 10 – 15: Kaohsiung
- Nov 15 – 18: Hualien
- Nov 18 – 29: Taipei
- Nov 29: Return to Vancouver
What’s Next
We’ve been planning this trip for a few months already and we’re less than two months away from departing. What that means is that there aren’t likely going to be a ton of planning-related posts, but we’ll be posting details of the trip that might be helpful or just generally interesting.
For future trips we’re going to be posting about our trip planning from the start. We already have another trip to Japan tentatively planned for fall 2027.
